According to the Chicago Department of Public Health in 2003 there were 5569 children under 6 years old in the Englewood community.  The record shows that 2469 of these children were tested for lead poisoning and 428 or 17.3% were found to have elevated lead levels.

  • Anemia
  • Constipation
  • Abdominal pain and stomach cramping
  • Extremely high levels may cause excessive vomiting, staggering gait, muscles weakness,
